In March 2026, 38 travellers from across the Okanagan and other parts of Canada embarked on an unforgettable journey through Egypt, exploring ancient wonders, experiencing a vibrant culture, and creating friendships along the way.
The adventure began in Cairo before continuing to Luxor, where the group boarded a four-night cruise along the legendary Nile River. As they travelled through the heart of Egypt, travellers explored some of the country's most remarkable sites, including the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and the beautiful Philae Temple in Aswan.
Life along the Nile quickly became a highlight of the journey. Shared meals, conversations on deck, and daily discoveries brought the group together.
Back in Cairo, travellers experienced the awe-inspiring Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Standing before these ancient wonders, riding camels and taking in the scale of Egypt's history created moments few will ever forget.
As the days passed, a simple phrase became the unofficial call sign of the trip. “Chamber, Chamber!” echoed through temples, across the Nile, and beside the pyramids, bringing everyone together with smiles, laughter, and a sense of camaraderie. What began as a group of travellers soon became a community connected by shared experiences and unforgettable memories.
For some, the adventure continued with an extension to Hurghada on the Red Sea, where travellers relaxed by the water, reflected on the journey, and enjoyed a few final days together before returning home.
